ACE USA today announced the appointment of Gregory Otterson as vice president, Surety Bonds for Professional Risk. Otterson will oversee all areas of Surety Bonds, focusing on the commercial needs of Fortune 1000 companies. Based in Philadelphia, his areas of responsibility include License & Permit, Court, Fiduciary, Customs, Tax and Surety Guarantees.

Otterson brings more than 18 years of surety experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as vice president, Commercial Surety at Liberty Bond Services, a division of Liberty Mutual. He developed and oversaw a national commercial surety operation with domestic and international bond services for Fortune 1000 companies. He began his insurance career as a surety underwriter trainee with Safeco, and also held various commercial surety and underwriting management positions in its Pacific Northwest and Southeast regions. Prior to starting his insurance career, Otterson worked as a cost accountant in the construction industry.

Otterson holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Idaho. He represents ACE USA by serving on the Commercial Insurance Subcommittee of the Surety Association of America (SAA) and as an affiliate member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP).
